Briefing on the Implementation of State-Level Decarbonization Policies and Strategies

Massachusetts State Senator Marc Pacheco, who chairs the CSG State Legislative Climate Alliance, hosted a briefing with Kathleen Theoharides, Secretary of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy & Environmental Affairs. Secretary Theoharides discussed the Baker administration’s long-term Decarbonization Roadmap Plan, and her agency’s efforts to reduce emissions in line with new targets  approved by the Massachusetts Legislature in March. The new law requires statewide carbon emissions reductions of 50 percent below 1990 levels by 2030, 75 percent by 2040, and net-zero emissions by 2050.
